See the attached.

I am doing an addition in the corner of two existing buildings. The existing buildings have 3'-0" Overhangs. I have hidden the roof of the existing building so that I can see the entire new roof below.

For a clean drawing I would like to draw a masking region over the existing buildings so that all I see is the outline of the existing building - you will notice that you can see walls because I have hidden the existing roof. When I try and draw a masking region, it doesn't cover anything up.

My view is set to hidden line.

Please help!

Thanks!

Are the existing buildings linked-in dwg's or Revit models?

I have had issues with hidden line RCP views appearing as wire frame if the view depth is set to Unlimited. Not sure about roof plans, though.

If you bring the roof back, will a masking region block out the roof? If so, then I would just use a plan region to lower the cut plane at the existing building to just above your new roof.

Another option would be select everything on the interior of that building and Hide In View. Or turn off the Interior workset if you have it set up that way.
