i want to find out if you can do solar calculations in Revit. and calculating shadows for apartment blocks.

The new R7.0 shadows can be set for locality and time of day. You could do a series of views at varying intervals, and present as a sequence, or else, overlay them progressively on a sheet and trace off the outlines, which could then be copied to a view.

If Accurender was complete inside Revit, you could make an AVI file of what you need exactly

You have always been able to do it in Powerpoint with Rendered Plans / 3D views / Elevs etc
