I'm interested in working with the Revit API and I'm wondering where I should start in terms of coding languages. I have very little coding experience, but I'm always up for a challenge and love learning new things. I dabbled in a little BASIC many years ago but its a very distant memory. I imagine I've got a long ways to go before I begin to actually program for Revit, but I've got some free time to really dive into it, so why not.

I have noticed a few threads about API and .NET work, but I'm really looking for a starting line of sorts. Coding 101 if you will.

Thanks

Dot net - There are many books out there on the language of your choice, VB or C#. You want to learn how dot net works before going into Revit, it would not hurt to take a night class or some internet class on your language of choice also.

Another way to learn, is put together a plan of what you want to do and have a programmer develop and afterwards sit down with you and explain what is going on.
