Is it possible to create a door where I can specify a pivot hinge that is offset from the edge of the door?
See attached diagram for what I'm trying to do.
Any help is greatly appreciated. . .

I think that is one door style I have never seen in ACA. There may be a way to create one, but it will take some tinkering. I will check later on.

Never seen it in ACA or in real life for that matter, I can't quite understand the benefit of having such a hinge arrangement.
But anyway, you could add a custom block to a standard single leaf hinged door style to show that in plan view and use style overrides to turn off the regular door, swing, stops etc.
You could also add custom blocks to show it in 3D views in the same way if necessary.
The downside is that you would need a different custom block for each door width and the opening percentage would not be changeable.
That's the best I can think of at the moment unless anyone has a better idea. :|

I've seen those doors in retail spaces. They are usually glass doors. They are very cool in real life.
As for creating them in ACA, I think H'Angus is on the right path. You would probably need to create a block and attach it to a door style.

I haven't looked yet, but has anyone taken a deeper look at the revolving door style. Any chance you may be able to modify that? I know I've done a double door with different size leaves, but I haven't seen that one yet in ACA either.

You should be able to add points on defpoint layer to show the width of the door and make it stretchable. Usually though this would be a one off entry door so it would be easy to simply adjust the door block to what ever width you need.

Peterson, ACA does have double doors with unequal leaves, right OOTB. The sizes of each leaf are separately selectable.
I thought about the revolving door, too, but haven't tried anything.
This offset pivot became temporarily poplular about 20 years ago, although I don't know why. They are, as said above, typically used on all-glass doors in office buildings. I have found the doors to be difficult to operate, and the ones I have used certainly require more than 5 pounds of effort to open. Then, to make them accessible, they need to be enormously wide.

True, but they still look cool! 8)

I'm also trying to make a pivot door, I'd appreciate any suggestions about setting up the family. I'd like to make it operable if possible.

I'm guessing that you are using Revit? If so you have unfortunately stumbled into the dark side of AUGI, the ACA forums  You may want to do a search or post a new question over on the Revit forums. (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=93)

HI,
could anybody resolve this problem?. I am trying to add a pivoting door to the AEC library but I can“t do it. I can create a block and add it to the design centre, but this is not what I need.
I need to have the style defined within the door types menu in the STYLE MANAGER_ARCHITECTURAL OBJECTS_DOOR STYLES_DESIGN RULES.
Could any body give me (us) a hand, please?.
Editing design rules/door types within the style manager seems impossible.
Thank you so much!!

There is not a pre-defined door type for an offset pivot door, and you cannot create custom types of your own. As previously mentioned in this thread, you will need to create a style for your offset pivot door, apply Display Representation override(s) as needed, turn off unwanted standard components and add custom display blocks to get the desired graphics.
