binding families

yes I know its a no no...

but, i have a very customized shower that evolved into sub familes to make up the set then that set goes into the project

is there any way to bind familys so there is not so much hiearchy
like binding xrefs...... actually a feature i really miss

Not sure if I am following correctly. When you place a family inside another family (nested) and then ultimately into a project, there is no dependency on a link to an external file. So therefore, there is no link that needs binding.
You get some flexibility when using the Shared parameter in a family, but even then there is still no link that needs binding.

Or, are you talking about locking a family to a project so that it cannot be saved out.
