I am new to the Revit world and am wondering how to create a shaft or wet wall without creating a specialized wall for it. I found the Cut Profile Tool and have tried to figure it out, but I keep doing something wrong.

I am using the typical Interior 5" Partition wall (3-5/8" Metal Stud with 5/8" GypBd on each side) and need to know how to remove the GypBd from the shaft wall side as well as remove it where the perpendicular walls intersect.

Any examples would be appreciated.

Note that the Cut profile tool is view specific (and only 2D). If you don't want the drywall inside the shaft, why not create a different wall type?

Just practicing on all the features and not just doing things the way I am used to in Architecture. I need to try and learn as much as I can, then turn around and teach others in my office how to do things.

Have you run through the tutorials yet? If not you need to.

You could create a wet wall by placing 2 stud layers and an air space within the core layer. We usually draw them as 2 separate furring wall types (studs with gyp on one side only).
