There is a condition were the basement wall is half concrete with the upper portion being stud framing. A window is placed where the bottom in the concrete region and the upper portion is in the framing section. This windows cuts throught the concrete but the stud portion. Is there a way to make the window cut throught both wall types?
Thank you all in advance.

use the join geometry tool to join the walls, then the inserts will cut out of both walls.

7.0 stacked walls are another option.

Yes, but I'm getting some strange results inserting windows in R7 stacked walls. Need to experiment a bit more methinks.

When you place a window into a stacked wall you are given the option as to which part of the wall to host the window. You need to pick the widest part of the wall that it will need to cut...

Not seeing that option in 7.0 at the moment, possibly because I'm placing windows in an elevation view, but even when placing in plan, there does not appear to be any visible choice.

Saw similar result the other day...placing in plan they behave, in elevation they did not.

i was placing them in 3d. But if you click on the window i think you can actually change the host...

Yes, onced placed ( and buried in the lower thicker stacked wall ) you can select the window and change the host.
