how do you make imported images "see thru"

its great when you can import pencil drafting (scanned from) by caveman drafters (insult intended well sorta)
and upright the image and see thru to create a rvt model

but, (not like acad) the image cannot become transparent so you can see thru it and the line work on image is visable also...

or do i need an image conversion to do this.

Hi Ray,

Activate the image by selecting it. Then use the "Send to Back" tool, this will place the image behind your model allowing you to trace over as you wish.

Cheers,

ok that seems to work....
the only drawback i see is if you put the the view in "hidden Lines"
some of image you want to see is now behind the model

with the image in front of the hidden model with transparent properties
the see thru was really cool...

i know... just being cranky pain...

This probably isn't what you were looking for, but a TIFF file with an Alpha Channel will be transparent where the pixels are in the Alpha channel are black.
