Common, I mean how stringent do the elevation symbols need to be (I know why it has to), It was tough in release 6.0 to make them look decent, but now in release 7.0 you get square and circle, and that is it, I cant even change the front arrow to 30 degrees now. Why cant we have an elevation symbol that just points to one direction, similar to the section symbol. I dont have to just click the 4 sides to see the other directions. The elevation symbol looks decent when you have all 4 sides clicked, but just one and it looks like ****.

Any sugestions on how people are making them look different.

Thanks guys

go to settings->view tags->elevation tags and you will have all the options you had before, including the angle of the arrow. I agree that they need some work, but there is no less options now than before...

hmmm I use to be able to right click on a symbol to get to that page. It will not let me do that now in 7.0 so I sit corrected you can do the same thing as 6.0, but they still need some work.

Since we do have a standards for the elevation (National Cad Standard), you would think that this would be a priority to achive some sort of compliance. Oh well you cant knock out all the issues in one release, I know the developers are busting there butts on tons of bigger issues.

Our companies way of using these are slightly different, the logic being that generally elevations are actually sections...if you see what I mean
So the only 'elevation' symbols we use is for the north/ south/ east/ west overall building view, if you name the symbol correctly, you can differientiate between your section markers to get the views turning up in different areas on your project browser (refer attached)

thanks Alex that is what we are doing also, I just think that if everone is working around the problem, that is not effecient. And that is why we use Revit, for its speed, and ease of use, not for the work arounds. Thanks once again

Alex,
We need to use section symbols as elevation symbols also to conform to our graphic standards. I understand how to use the symbol, but I don't understand how you modified the project browser to distinguish between Building Section, Elevation & Wall Section. Could you point me in the right direction? We're using 7.
Thanks
