Summary: The ability to shift part of a linetype pattern to make it more visibly pleasing.
Description: To be able to shift a linetype, that is, to move the pattern of a linetype to a more visibly pleasing location. For example: a gasline could look like this: ---GAS--------GAS--- instead of this: --------GAS--
How Used: This would be beneficial because we could shift the pattern of a linetype without having to create a custom linetype (time consuming)everytime a linetype looks unbalanced or truncated. Additionally many agengies provide their own linetypes that their clients are not allowed to deviate from so we have no choice but to leave them unbalanced looking or to fake the linetype in by drawing pattern manually (time consuming). In some cases we try to scale linetypes which is also not always visibly appealing and can cause some non-uniformity between the linetypes. It seems some agencies are switching to using Microstation or other CAD software because of little nuisance items such as this which is something I that is definitely undesireable. Being able to shift linetypes will help us to have better looking drawings and allow us to spend less time on them. Thank you
Feature Affinity: Linetype
