I have seen/heard the idiom 'model it as it would be built' but that isn't always a clear way forward

I have attached the detail I want to create. I have made the soffit and fascia which finish flush with the wall. The roof overhangs and that creates the issue. The roof structure and roof finish are independant in reality and is over simplified in Revit. But I am prepared to admit it's me and not the tool! :( Also, in completing this I would like some advice about creating the fascia end cap.

I have considered creating the roof using two roofs, one for structure and one for tiles. Would really like your take on this since Revit has a tendency to letting you shoot massive holes in your foot which you only notice when you're face down in it.

Cheers

Yep. Just use the "Change Mitering Option" when you select the fascia.

Great! Thanks for the sample file. It's so much better to be able to poke around :) and I knew nothing about the mitering tool, it doesn't come up on the eaves piece.

Second roof is the way to go.:beer:
