Is there a way you can export the "Isolate elements" to the dwg format so that ONLY the isolated elements get converted but NOT the hidden elements?

If you are talking about the "Temporary Hide/Isolate" function (sunglasses), I think the answer is no. You would need to go to your Visibility/Graphics Overrides for the particular view and uncheck everything that you don't want to export.

If you isolate the elements and apply it to the view (so it won't be only temporarily hidden) then you can export and all that will go are the elements shown on the screen.

What about if I want to isolate one type of wall and hide the other types of wall?
The element is still wall under Visibility/Graphics overrides. Then it still won't work, right?
How do you "apply to a view"? Would you mind to elaborate a little bit more please? Thanks.

After you temporarily isolate something, you can click on the sunglasses again to apply to view. See attached.

Cool. It works. Thanks a lot for the tips once again.
