MEP linked spaces turn green

I noticed that whenever I set a linked MEP file to Custom in a view, then change the model category to Custom and turn off any particular category, suddenly all the MEP Space objects turn green in the view, even with nothing selected. I then have to go back to V/G, into the MEP model's overrides, and turn on categories from all disciplines so that I can turn off Spaces in that view also.

Is this a known issue? This is in RAC 2009.
