I just noticed that the default Column is now Structural, not Architectural.
(Edit: Slight modification. It remembers your last-used Column - which ever type it is)
Also, the Coarse, Medium, Fine icons are easier to see which is which.

Have you noticed that a few of the icons have changed....the section tool icon cought me off guard.

The associated PDF mentions that the section and elevation tool icons have been updated. I don't know what the issue was with the old ones.

The BIG change for me that is not mentioned specifically in the PDF is increased stability in accelerated 3D. No more phantom disappearing walls, floors or roofs, which would also not plot. And I don't lose linework in plan with shadows on. Yay! I can finally leave graphics acceleration on. Also, big improvements in printing stability. And stability in general. Plus speed. Definately speed. The ribbon and the general app seem much zippier now (but that may be a result of finally being able to use graphics acceleration...)

I just finished reading the PDF... The word improvement is there more than 15 times... Has something actually changed? I mean, do you see any difference?
I don't see PDF export, they didn't fix that?

All I've noticed so far are:

pdfs plot fine,
quad core wall cleanup multi-threading switch now works in the Revit.ini file,
hitting OK out of the Pantone selection dialog no longer seems to transfer focus away from Revit,
small icons are clearer,
some large icons are improved (switch windows?, section),
ribbon refreshes faster,

Did they sort out the compatibility issues with Internet Explorer 8 on the x64 systems?

ribbon refreshes faster
I agree with this, but it is only marginally faster. It's still not snappy though.

Selected objects in thin lines mode are better visible now.

I thought this was a fluke, but Revit Support confirms it was intentional.

Development made the change as many people had requested that sheets display in their entirety upon opening them up.

When you open, the View that you had open when you last saved will come in Zoomed to Fit.

KEYNOTE SETTINGS. When in the family editor you can now access the keynote settings. Go to ribbon - manage - settings, and keynote settings is now listed on the dropdown (wasnt in the original 2010 release).

The above keynoting settings also applies when in a project as well as when in the family editor.

STILL CRASHING at random times even after WU1!!!!!! :banghead:

I realllllllllly want to get a new HDD and a 64-bit OS and 8GB RAM and install everything fresh on this machine, along with 64-bit Revit.

I have been eagerly awaiting WU1 before I even considered rolling out v2010 - you just have to look at how long the "How often does your Revit crash" thread is to work out that something is wrong. WU1 does not mention that in the update list, nor does it seem to be fixed - there is already one mention of crashing in this thread. How can we be expected to use unstable software in a production environment? It should not be up to us to try out new graphics drivers, or be careful with positioning the QAT just to manage the problem.

WU1 has a few nice little fixes to the UI that we've been asking for:
- Structural Column as default.
- 4 more drop-down buttons remember last used command - but why not all of them? Where is the consistency?
- Has QAT been completely fixed? Can we reorder icons now? No - but they did move "Sync to Central". That is 1% fixed.
- Detail level icons have been fixed, thankfully.
- View control icons now refresh properly (but icon design is still not clear).
- Check the update list for the rest - it won't take you long.

I was hoping for signs in WU1 that the fundamental design problems in the ribbon are being addressed? We really do appreciate the work that the guys are doing at the coalface - it must be tough with all the flak that we as users are giving (nothing personal, honest). Surely it is well past time to put more resources into dealing with the 2010 problems?
