"SIM" on callout blocks the view number!

I have a series of restroom interior elevation callouts that are referencing a single elevation - the problem I am haivng is that when the "SIM" appears on the callout, it is covering up the reference number, and I have no idea how to move the "SIM" out of the way. I know customizing callouts is a b%^&#-and-a-half, is there any workaround for this short of not using a callout?

Turning off the 'SIM' text is a type parameter of the callout family, just delete the text in the reference parameter. The only problem is this will turn off all of your SIM notes. I typically put these in manually with text anyway since I don't always want the tag to be there, and when I do I'd rather be able to move it around to make sure I don't get the kind of conflicts you're talking about.
