Is there any way to go beyond 1:1 scale ? eg 2:1, 5:1 etc. mainly for drafting view printing.
Thanks

Nope. Revit doesn't allow scales greater than 1:1.

What are you detailing that requires the scale to be that big? Surely not any building details. Larger-than-life scales seem (at least to me) to be more suited to detailing objects for manufacturing, and Revit really isn't the program for that.
Surely the world of architecture sometimes has small details that need to be drawn. Dismissing this as un-Revit is ignoring the fact that REvit is also used for Structure and MEP. It is a limitation of the software, not the user.

I'm still not sure what building components would need detailing at twice life size or larger.

Sometimes transitions from carpet to tile or other materials need to be drawn larger that life to be clear since the items are so small. I have created a whole group of details for that purpose before and a condo job.

At the moment I'm doing museum design and fitouts, right down to workshop details for display showcases and display cabinets. I find revit realy good at the concept design stage of these types of jobs and then follow through to layout and workshop detail. At workshop detail I work with thin verneers to build displays mainly 5mm laminated ply's and 1mm finishes of anodized aluminium. hence the need for such small detail.
