I just discovered that when you delete the line style of an autocad detail that is imported and exploded in a 'Drafting View' the autocad lines turn into detail lines. This can be a very quick way to convert Autocad standard detail into Revit detail. I am just curious if anyone has tripped onto this trick and know of any negative side effects of this conversion process.
Thanks,
Jr.

You will then have to manually delete the sub-object styles created when the file was imported, as well as the linetypes, line patterns, hatch patterns, etc. The AutoCAD definition, and its file size can not be deleted not purged, and since it is exploded you cannot select it anywhere, so that file/view will always contain that extra file definition/size in it.
You are better off to use a blank file, link the file in, and using the pencil, draw detail lines by "selecting" the lines within the linked AutoCAD file to create the detail. Then you can remove the link, which leaves the file clean, and you can then import that view into your projects.

Thanks Scott. I was hoping the baggage that come with the exploding the autocad file can be purged. I will use the CAD file as an underlay to create Revit Standard details.
Thanks.
