Legend Component Views

Anyone know how to get left/right elevations available as an option for a family in the legend components? I have two plumbing families: one offers left and right elevations, and the other doesn't. I thought maybe it was an upgrade issue, so I recreated the family. But still no side elevations. I tried to define a work plane in the left and right views (thinking this might be what the legend component uses to create left and right views). But no good.

I don't believe you can specify the side.

All of our AutoCAD Wall section details were drawn with the Exterior face on the left.

When we started using the Legend components for our details, the Legend component Section always has Exterior on the right. So now your details are the opposite face of the Wall sections.

I filed a Support Request & the answer was that you can't flip the Legend Component. It has been flagged as a Wish List item.

Interestingly enough, when you are creating your Wall Type, the Section view in the dialog box has Exterior on the left, but the Legend Component puts Exterior on the right :roll:

But there's got to be something I'm missing. Like I said in the original post, one plumbing family is allowing me to have "Elevation: Left" and "Elevation: Right" as options for a legend component view, and the other doesn't have the option.

I'll have to poke around tonight. Maybe the template used to create create the families? One appears to be wall based and the other is plan based...

This post was a long time ago but I had an issue with this too. The reason why one of your family would work and the other is that one of your family is hosted and the other is non-hosted. The non-hosted family shows all four elevation and plan view while the family that is wall hosted only shows front, back, and plan view. I hope they fix this soon (we are working in 2009 so perhaps 2010 fix this problem) because it doesn't make since that the legend view doesn't show all possible views of the element (especially if it is modeled) no matter if it is hosted or non-hosted.
