Template to Existing Surface

I want to create a finish surface on my road profile, but I don't want it slopes to extend to any surface. when I turn my match slopes off it gives me an error, is there a way to do this.

Ryan,

Try this don't turn the match slopes off, set them.
Only it won't matter what slope you enter because
you will already be at exisitng.

Create a transition region in your template @ the connection point out,
Define horizontal and vertical alignments for the transition to follow (match point)
Use the Vertical alignment editor to copy the EG vertical profile
to the design centerline vertical alignment as the proper transition number.

Then when you push the template along the NEW or exisitng centerline vertical
alignment the outer transition will follow exisitng ground profile and you won't
(or shouldn't) have any match slopes to worry about as the match point is the
horizontal alignment you instructed the template to follow.
