I'm quite aware of the bovine method but wondered if there was a visual interface for creating model patterns? I've looked at the revit.pat file and don't fancy typing it. Is there perhaps a grid that you could draw over to plot the points? What's everyone elses experience?

There are third party applications like Hatchkit (you can Google it to find more info) or even free Lisp applications you run in AutoCad and export your drawing as a PAT file.

The lisp routines allow you to draw your pattern in a box and will generate the pattern code for what's inside that box. You can then copy the code and paste into the Revit pattern file.

I don't remember the name of the lisp routine (booby something, if I'm not wrong) but you can Google hatch pattern creation and it will bring you a lot of alternatives.
