Hello,

I'm working in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009.

I have a corridor that is working great, but I need to make a change and I'm not sure how to go about it.

basically I have a road corridor that has a grass swale on each side of the road. I am using a "Basic Lane Transition" subassembly for the road and a "Daylight Basin" subassembly to create the grass channel and tie into existing grade.

The Daylight Basin is creating the grass swale in fill condition and in cut condition. In fill conditions it creates a grass channel then a berm then ties into existing ground.

I would like to change it to only create the grass channel in cut conditions and to just tie into existing ground in fill conditions.

I should add that I am not extremely good at the program, so simple explanations are appreciated.

Thanks.

Basically, use a different subassembly. Try the DaylightGeneral or DaylightStandard subs.

Use the basic side slope cut ditch sub-assembly in the basic palette. That will do exactly what you want and is very simple.

I've never used that particular subassembly but I have a tendancey to shy away from the basic palette. I've seen to many issued caused by those subassemblies. Perhaps in 2010 they have been cleared up but I don't know.

I use it all the time and it works great for me.
