How does one handle the controlling of detail tags in plan versus elevation view.

I don't want all my detail tags that I tag in plan views to show up in elevation/section as they seem to do where I have experimented. Yet I am about to populate a project and I need to know I can control this.:???:

I understand that they can be controlled by scope box or detail extents, but not by worksets or subcatagories.

Thanks

If you're saying you don't want to see any detail tags in elevation or section, you can turn them all off in vis graphics.

If you want to see some and not others, you can right click and hide selected tags in a view.

If there are groups of tags that need to be hidden you can associate them with a scope box and control their visibility that way.

Begee,

Thanks, but seems to me I'm gonna want more control than scope boxes or hide individually.

In order to minimize management of tags for location and display, in a project with scores of tags and dozens of views, I would want to be able to perhaps subcatagorize detail tags and control their display by view that way. Is this gonna be possible in 7.0 with their improvements to section tags?

Or maybe a parameter is needed in the tag properties for Display in Plan Only or Elevation/Section Only or Both.

You can control detail and section tag visibilty based on the scale of the view. This can help reduce clutter on large scale plans and building elevations

We have experienced this problem just today. Dimitri's method was my first choice; however, the suspect elevation views and the plan views are the same scale. Unfortunately, this method does not suit our needs. In addition, it is not all the tags. Only a select few seem to be showing up. I've checked all the far clipping and so on, but none of them really give me the results I am searching for. Has there been any more development on this front. I would really hate to hide each individual tag.

It seems to me that the detail tags need to have something similar to detail callouts where you have a choice of having them visible in either the "Parent" view or "Intersecting Views".

I know this has been on the Wish List before. It might be worth submitting it again in some form to ensure the Factory knows this is an on-going issue.
