I have fascias that return along the slopes of a gable end. The soffits need to do the same but they seem to only sit horizontal. What's best practice for doing this?

1. Use a Ceiling with Slope Arrows
2. Make the soffit a bottom layer of the Roof

You can make them slope, by editing the sketch mode, selecting one line, and clicking on the Defines Slope checkbox that will appear.

That was a stupid question! I must have been blinkered when I was looking at that, it's the same interface as for everything else that slopes... I mean the ribbon was playing tricks on me

We all have our moments. Even after 6 years of use, there are times I cannot remeber how to do things which I've done time and time again. Cheers!!

Is there a way to have a sloped soffit with a square edge, for instance at a square-cut roof? It seems soffit perimeter edges are always plumb.

Probably not. I would just use a roof type as your soffit element.
