[2010] Re-order Family Parameters (OPEN)

Feature Change Wish:

The list of parameters for any family should be able to be re-ordered within each parameter category. For example, in an Electrical Transformer family, the parameters for Primary and Secondary Distribution Systems are not grouped next to each other when editing the properties of the object within a project. One is near the top of the list and the other near the bottom.

Allowing users to rearrange parameters within a group would speed workflow, as the arrangement of the parameters becomes more intuitive.

Adding an amendment to this one, as it continues to cause some headaches around the office:


Allow users full control of predetermined parameters. Permit changing existing parameters between type and instance basis, moving order of parameters, removing existing parameters, and changing parameter type (text, integer, yes/no, etc.)


I shouldn't have to create a new generic model family every time I want my parameters to be established differently from the hard-coded out of the box setup.

I agree with full enthusiasm. Revit should at a BARE minimum inherit the standard M. Windows ability to click on the column header to sort the rows alphabetically. I can't believe that they left this feature out.
