I am drawing rectangles to use to create forms (extrusion). The rectangle needs to be rotated in plan view to follow random alignments (topo and views dictate). I have parameter to control width and length, but when I try to align the rectangle to a reference plane, to rotate it according to sketches, the rectangle loses is normal angles. If I dimension the angles and try to lock them all at 90, I get an error saying overconstrained. So, how can I draw a rectangle and then align it to any plane?

In meantime I am rotating....but it would be faster if I could align. Thanks.

Matthew,

Try drawing a Reference line to control one side of the rectangle and rotate the reference line. DEpending on how you set up the family that should work
