I'm in the process of importing CAD lineweights and mapping them to the Revit lineweights. The problem i forsee is that how do i decide which scale (Revit) to map to. I could possibly have a floor plan, detail and section views all at different scales i may want to link in. In the import settings, I basically picking a scale and mapping it to that.

Since a color in CAD is the same lineweight for all scales, how are people handling this? First thought that came to mind was using say Revit lineweight 10-16 (which I dont use for anything within Revit) and set the lineweights to to be the exact same for every scale I have. Then in the import settings set the mapping using lineweight numbers 10-16. Is this what people are doing, or am i missing something?

Thanks,

Brett

What are we doing... trying like H not to import anything...
You should read this topic in your HELP - Setting Line Weights for Imported DWG or DXF Files

I think its clear that i understand how the mappings work wmullet. I suggest you reread my post.

Anyway this post is exactly what i was referring to and has resolved the issue. Seems i was on the right path. Thanks.

Gee - sorry I tried to answer. I guess that sense we try to only use imports in details, I just wasn't smart enough to see your problem.

BTW - I'm just dumb enough to figure out that if the CAD details good enough to import, it's easier to convert them to Revit details and not have to worry about the linework. Imported CAD is not worth importing except as site backgrounds.
