View Full Version : Revit 2010 File Sizes
The converted revit files (2009 to 2010) appear to be much smaller (30%).
1. Do they stay that way, or expand exponentially after work begins?
2. Is Revit 2010 more friendly to worksharing with 5 users than 2009?
Thanks,

Yes--2010 files are a bit smaller, and stay that way, unless sloppy habits are employed.
File size management tips: ( all team members must follow ).
1. Close Hidden windows when Synchronizing to Central. Have only a single, simple 2D view open when saving to central.
2. Compact Central while saving ( it's really not that slow, and helps keep file from bloating
over project life cycle. )
3. Purge often ( BIM Manager / Project Architect controls when/how. )
4. Link, do not Import, Cad files--and remove them as soon as possible.
5. Do not leave shadows on in views, and then save to central.
These are just a few, but good rules.
cheers.......

Good list, glad to hear that I am not the only one telling everyone to Compact Central while saving.....I got a lot of grief when I first brought this up.
