Hi!
Im having trouble with a few of my concrete columns. The columns have two brackets about 500 millimeters from the top which the steel beams are supposed to lie on.

The problem is that the steel beams keep cutting back all the way to the outer side of the brackets which means that the beams are flying beside the brackets. I´ve tried to change the cutback for the column "to geometry" and such but it doesnt work.Hope that someone knows the probably easy answer. I'll attach a picture of the problem.

Hav you Modelled the connection in the project or in the column family?

I'ts one of my colleagues that has created the column as a family but I tried to fix it and it still doesnt work. The distance from the top of the column to the upperside of the bracket is parametric. How do I edit the cutback in the column family?

It seems that the beam cutback to the outer limit of the column which it think is the bracket.

I can't be sure but idont believe you can acheive what you require in the column family, you would be best to at least load ing the angle into the column family as a structural connx family

Do you have the additional drag options to override the analytical model and just control the physical model??

There are a few in the libraries ( I can only vouch for metric), these allow additional levels of control and for this scenario, I would create dimensions to the wall set the cutback then delete and contrain the dimensions.

A drag option is needed in your beam.
The corbels in the column has notning to do with your problem.

I would have thought you could just alter the start & end extensions of your beam to suit?
Failing that I also usually have beam families with ends that I can manipulate well before or beyond the "node" point of the beam.
