Hi All,

Just joined - looking to find a basic /free/ easy to understand building block approach to learning revit. Even if it is simple text decriptions on how to draw/make a wall, how to create line weights, etc. I'm coming from a pretty solid AutoCAD background, and was hoping there was a resource out there taylored to that mindset.

I downloaded the Revit2010 trial, thinking I could figure it out using and autoCAD thought process, and I was completely wrong!

Any references anyone can suggest?

Use the Tutorials that come with Revit as a starter.

There are also some good books on Amazon--just serach for Revit 2010.

Throw out all Autocad thinking--it will frustrate and hurt you when moving to Revit/BIM.

Remember, You are MODELING the building, not DRAWING LINES and using drafting techniques!!!

Welcome aboard!

cheers......

The tutorials are excellent - but I also subscribed to www.cadclips.com

get into real work as soon as you can, and be prepared to get your hands dirty and for your head to HURT for a while

now my head hurts when I have to draw in AutoCAD!
