View Full Version : Extremely slow 3D perspective camera view regen

I'm not sure what's going on, but suddenly the 3D perspective views in this 15 MB Revit file take FOREVER to regenerate after moving the camera. Just now I rotated the camera around while in the view, and after extremely jumpy/jittery movement, it sat there and took a full TWO MINUTES thinking and regenerating before letting me do anything!

I've never had view performance issues like this before, even on MUCH larger projects.

The only thing I can think of that has changed is that we decided to bind our linked site file, and re-link the CAD survey. So now my topo and pads are all in with the building, and the CAD file is linked into this file (instead of it being a separate site file).

However all the site stuff is on a separate workset that is off, and the CAD file is on its own workset that isn't even loaded, and yet the 3D views are still lagging as I described.

Could it be the CAD file that's causing this? The CAD file is only about 350 KB. I suppose I could just stick the CAD file into its own blank Revit file and link that Revit file in.

Oh yeah, another thing I tried today was moving the QAT down below the ribbon again, because I'm only on a 1280x1024 display and I have quite a few tools on the QAT. I got a Windows hard "stop error" earlier today, a.k.a. blue screen of death, and had to reboot my system. The BSOD said one of the nVIDIA DLL files was at fault, but I don't know if that has anything to do w/ QAT location or not.

I have moved the QAT back above the ribbon, but still no change in 3D perspective performance when trying to move around in the view.
