Whether Intel Pentium-D is Enough, to run RAC 2010?

Please tell What is the Size of “Revit Architecture 2010” in the Control Panel > Add & Remove Programs?. I want to decide that Whether it is a good idea to install Revit Architecture 2010 on my Pentium – D, 3.4 Ghz processor, 2 GB RAM, 260 GB HDD or not?

Thanks but we are using 32 bit windows & processor. So what is the size of 32 bit Revit Architecture 2010 in Add & Remove programs.

I run 2010 on my home machine, Pentium D 3.2 GHz 2 GB RAM and 250 GB 16MB cache C drive (program location) and 1 TB 32 MB cache D drive (file locations). Runs just fine, although a touch slower than my quad Xeon 4 GB machine at work.

To answer your question, Revit 2010 shows up on my 32-bit quad Xeon work machine as 184 MB in the Add/Remove programs folder.

Wait... You've got a 260 Gig hard drive, and you're worried about using up 1 Gig of it with Revit?

You're going to be far more limited by that 2 Gig of RAM than you are by the hard drive.
(BTW, we're running Revit 2009 and 2010 on machines with 80 Gig drives and 4 Gig RAM)

Yeah ditto, I have Revit 2009 and 2010, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. etc. on my work machine, which only has a 74 GB 10K RPM hard drive, but with 4 GB memory.

Please check the size again because in my computer, even the Size of RAC 2009 in Add & Remove Programs is = 290 MB. Then how the size of RAC 2010 can be only 184 MB??.
It is the magic of 10K HDD & 4GB RAM that those plenty of Software are running well in your PC.

Funny, we are not worried about Hard Disk Space occupied by RAC 2010. But only about Smooth Running of RAC 2010 according to my configuration. Ya RAM play a vital role. But remember that when overall RAM is Used by System, then HDD Fulfill the remaining RAM requirement, if needed.

I would seriously consider adding at least another Gig of Ram to your machine. But either way, you wont really know until you take the plunge & try it out for yourself. There are too many factors to consider with computers. Two very similar computers may provide two very different results.

Also, Does Our processors are compatible with 64 Bit Versions of Windows XP & RAC 2009/ 2010. Is it possible to install 64 Bit Versions of Windows XP & RAC 2009/ 2010 on our computers.

My understanding is that ALL Pentium D processors are 64-bit. So yes, it should technically be possible to run 64-bit versions of Windows.

However, there's very little point in Windows x64 unless you have 4GB or more of physical RAM.

Your computer equipment is very old. It's not worth spending money to upgrade. You should buy new computers if you need 64-bit Windows/Revit.

Ya PC configuration is slightly old. I agree that it is not Ideal to install 64 Bit Windows/ RAC 2010 but it is Capable to run them. Also what is the role of mother board in 64 Bit applications??. Please refer other threads regarding installing 64 Bit windows/ RAC 2010.
