I am using AutoCAD 2007 to program a laser. The path is a polyline, arc or line. I am looking for a way to join these entities together. I have used MPEDIT, PEDIT. MPEDIT seems to work the best but it doesn't like when more then two entities have the same endpoint. This is where I manually have to choose what to join and what I am trying to automate. Looking at one of the rectangles, I would start by Pediting the outer perimeter, turning it into a polyline, join it, add the short line that connects the next smaller perimeter offset and repeat until the entire rectangle is one polyline. This dwg was created in MasterCAM by creating toolpaths. This optimizes the process of creating the laser path but I still have not found a good way to connect it all together. The laser requires a polyline and to save cycle time needs it as one. Does anyone think they could write a LISP routine to do this?

A lisp no but a DLL yes. We do most of our programming in dot net - which i feel is quite a bit more powerful, not to mention on large files will compute and run much faster then lisp
