hatch orientation

I'm trying to apply a material hatch to a tapered masonry pedestal that is a solid blend family. when I apply the hatch either in the family or paint it on in the project two of the faces orient horizontally and two are vertical. I cannot select the hatch and rotate it either.

Is it a model hatch pattern or a drafting hatch pattern?

You should be able to rotate the model hatch, not the drafting hatch.

The swept blend may also be causing a bit of a problem, can you post an example?

it is a model hatch. I'm sorry, I have forgotten how attach a drawing or screen capture.

Model hatches on family geometry cannot be rotated within a project, unfortunately. You have to rotate them while in the family editor.
