Can anyone tell whether its possible to have a nested Concept Mass loaded into another concept mass and be used to create a form ? In the same way a profile would work in a sweep ? Is that the answer ? it has to be a profile type family ?

If I was to create a spline through points in my main Concept Mass what I want to be able to do is host points on that spline with a vertical offset as a set out point.
Then on that set out point I want to place the same 2D frame or profile to drive my roof surface. My initial idea was to use the another mass to create the geometry and then load in and place on the plane of the reference points.

this all works fine until I try to create the mass and select the spline as well as the loaded mass profiles which generates an error.

Would appreciate any advice or tips on the best way to go about this.
thanks in advance

Cheers
Chris

Just an update from me, I have noted that if I trace over the nested concept mass profile using lines in the main concept mass this will flex if i update the original profile.
So in esscence that gives me what I need but I would still appreciate any advice on a different or more correct approach.

Cheers

Yes, nested conceptual mass families can be used to create form. In one conceptual mass family you can draw a 2d proflie and add parameters. Then save and nest that family into another conceptual mass family. Once in the new family, you have to Tab-select the 2D profile in the nested family then pick the Create Form button.

Brilliant thanks Scott I will give that a go.

I had thought I tried tabbing but must have not done it properly.

Many thanks
