Hi to all,
I am using ASD 2010 and would like general feedback from others regarding assemblies in ASD.

When we use commands like columns, Beams & multi-segment beams, ASD creates an assembly of steel plates, welded and cut accordingly.
Now for example if you use machining commands on these assemblies, like Fit to Object, Split profile, Lengthen / Shorten. These commands do not work on the assembly as whole, but the user needs to select each plate and machine.

I think this is a disadvantage, there should be an option to machine the assembly as whole. Do others agree with this.

Connections do not work on assemblies (except for column base).
Is there a possible workaround for this?
Thank for all your suggestions
Regards,
NEIL

It depends how you work. if you do everything before and generate assemblies later. There is no need. Just move everything up and down as you need.
If you create assemblies first and move the around and interact with them, this is not the logic intended.

Automatic connections work , in every situation, move change angle and etc.
So i would wish i can create my own automatic connections somehow.
