Hi all,

i need to render BAMBOO tubes, but dont want to model all tubes [to heavy model-wise],

so I need a good material with the proper cuts-outs or perforations and the proper gradient shading on a tube to show the roundness of the tubes!!

Some did this before, or could start me up with this material!

What I would do is just take that image (hopefully you have or can get one without the water mark) and convert to grayscale, then bump up the contrast so that the areas between the bamboo shoots will be dark or nearly black and will render as low spots. The lighter areas (the shoots) will render as high spots. Save the image as a bump map to go along with the actual color image, and then map both to a material.
