Import Revised Family-disapearing override Window?

I revised a family and chose the command "Load Into Project".
In my project the window that asks if I want to override the current family with the new one flashes on my screen for an instant then disappears. Now I can't do anything within Revit. It doesn't seem that Revit is locked up but rather the "override the current family window" is somehow hiding and it won't let me do anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone have any suggestions?

Rename the family (so there is no override necessary). Once it is loaded substitute the revised family for the original.

Thanks, I was able to close each view individually in the Project Browser and it let me save my project on the last view. Of course I had to restart Revit to work again, kind of a pain.
