Is there any way we can ask questions of the Programmer (Developer?) directly? I would love to ask a question specifically about curtain panels.

Unfortunately most people don't have access to the dev team. Your best best it to post here and/or the wishlist.

You might try filing a Support Request.
Especially if you want to request a new Feature.
Sometimes, (but not always), it will get bumped to someone in the know.
