View Full Version : Creating Central Files as Admin - not!

Hi,

I'm up against an odd problem. When I, with "admin" network permissions status, create a workshared .rvt file, either from scratch or DFC, other staff with "user" permissions status cannot create a local file with the 2010 check box method (it's grayed out). And, as a bonus, I can't create a local if one of the "users" has created the central file. We can still use the "copy/paste/rename" method, but I would prefer the checkbox. I'm driving our IT dept. crazy on this, anyone have a clue?

Thanks,

Is it something simple like a read-only check box?

Otherwise I have not had that happen under same network log-ins.

cheers......

Sadly, no - I end up with ownership of the file, but no one can explain why that is an issue. This only affects the creation of local files with the checkbox. hmmmmm.

The path for local file from the checkbox is set to My Documents by default.

Sometimes Windows Server is a bit finicky about My Documents.

Try setting the path to C:\Local Revit or something else...........

Path was set to C:\Revit, I'm working with our vendor now. If I find out anything I'll post.
