I am running LT 2004, and am currently trying to set out my paper space. The drawing contains a single xref. I have placed a wipeout object in model space over an area of the drawing i do not wish to appear through one of the viewports. I have done this to try and make some space for another viewport. However, when i place my new viewport over this area i wanted 'wiped out' the wipeout object also covers the info i want to see through my new viewport.
I have tried placing the wipeout object onto paper space and rearranging the draworder, but neither seems to change anything. If i cannot view a section of my xref over the wipeout then what is the point in this command. I checked the help files and it seems to indicate that 'Wipeout objects cover existing objects with a blank area to make room for notes or to mask details. '

Hi

For people arriving here to offer assistance / help on this topic you may wish to browse the following thread as it offers a little bit of history on this very topic -

Pasting objects over a wipeout object (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=10686)

Does AutoCAD LT have the _.XClip command?

If yes, using this command may very well offer a better solution to your particular issue / problem.

Have a good one, Mike

unfortunatly no, lt does not have the _xclip command. I have had to overcome the problem by creating two view ports overlapped, and have ensured that the xref viewed through them lines up, thus producing an alternative to polygonal viewports.
