Has anyone a good way of creating and adding Hip and Ridge Caps for Metal (S.S.) Roofs. I guess the same applies to Shingled Roofs. Just can't seam to get the hang of it.

You can try a generic model line based. This will create an extrusion along the ridge / hip.

I take the basic roof - and copy it up a bit. Then I edit the shape to from the ridge caps.
You cal also just draw some model lines on the roof surface.
I used to use the family or sweep along the ridge - but that always got too fussy trying to maintain the proper angles as the design evolved.

I use Aarons method exactly for the design purposes. Lines are easy but a pain to keep in sync.

I use a host sweep - fascia but place it on the ridge.

Are you still in 2008?
Because 2009 has removed this functionality (unfortunately) - as far as I know.
That's why I had to start using a method similar to Aaron's (see pictures below).
Now, it takes just a little bit more time but when I accepted the fact that this is the way (at least for now) it doesn't annoy me anymore. I simply know that I have to spend another 5 minutes doing it - that's all...

Thanks to all for the replies............and also I apokogize for the duplicate postings.........didn't see the first one I posted (from work) last night when I posted this one (From Home). I'll try AAron's method.
Thanks,
Mike

Here is an example from 2009 and the same project was upgraded to 2010 to render and it still works. I know there was a build that took it away but its back now.

2009.0 took it away. 2009.1 brought it back. although they never published that fix, when I inquired about it. the tech said someone must of slipped it in. go figure. This was a critical feature for us as I was quantifiying linear feet of such objects and I delayed upgrade till it was fixed.
