2010 back to 2009

If I were to work in 2010 could I save back to 2009. It would be for a consultant to just link into their plans. No editing would need to be done. Thanks.

No.

This has always been true in Revit--no backward-save capability.

If there's no editing you can export to DWG or publish to DWF (Assuming they're using AutoCAD).
If they are using Revit then tell tem to upgrade for that specific project.
