Hi,
I recently downloaded Autodesk's fencing types within a project on their library site.
Great, i thought, I'll run a fence down the topography on my site.
How can I host the fence, which is made by a railing family, to the topography?
The only way I have found is dropping it down the elevation in small section, but I do want to have it follow the topography, not stagger down it.
Any ideas?

Hi biffslist,

I tend to use a curtain wall in lieu of a railing and either set a thin floor directly below the toposurface (to attach the bottom), or simply edit profile an both top and bottom to get the look I am after.

Cheers,

Ian

Sorry all,
I should have done a search before posting.
It is apparent this is not possible easily, straight out of the box.
I will try to follow the work arounds suggested in other posts.
Wizzes out there have no problems sorting work arounds out like this, but it is just this sort of little thing in Revit that throws me. Constraints and cant-do's throw me every time.
I suppose it is because the fences are made using another type of hosted family.

thanks Ian,
I can imagine running a curtain wall down 50 M of a site then simply editing the profile.
That makes sense.
thankyou
