Do you mean seperate buildings, o rseperate files, or seperate clients or what?
Combining them will mean they are all going to have the same client/job info in the titlebox's. You could link them, but maintain seperate files. If you have shared details, etc you can copy them back and forth.
Not really sure what you require without more info to be honest, but I'm sure you could keep them all seperate with no fuss.

sorry for lack of clarity....as an example i have started 4 files independent of each other (all 4 are for the same client)...i woiuld like to combine them into one file and one set to take advantage of matching details, typical mounting height graphics, etc....it will be bid as one package.....just trying to think of best way to do that (now, that they were started as individual files).....trying to think of any way that could jamb me ie. with door schedules (within the one file and i have separate door schedules???

No worries.
If it starts to get complicated with issue for things like phases, schedules etc, I would keep them seperate. No doubt there will be a complicated way around it, but to keep you sanity keep them seperate, as I say you can copy between.
Unless, you introduce a prefix for the doors say 01-01 for job 01 door 01 or something, if they are the same phase etc, but it might start getting messy...
