Tag w/ no Reference?

Can you Tag w/ no reference to a detail? I was drafting an engineers mark-ups and was trying to tag his details that were drawn in Acad. I didn't want to exploded them because it created alot of problems. I use my own details and bring them into Revit w/ no problem.

Open up the tag family and change its family category to generic annotation. You'll have to then recreate the label. Now you can place it using the symbol tool. You'll be able to add leaders to it when you place it also.
