Changing Annotating Tags

Hello,
The standard in our office is when the annotation for a detail comes from the left, that the leader comes from the last line of text instead of the first. I was wondering if anyone knew how to change that so the left and right side annotations will be different.

You cant, its hard coded in to the program that way.

One of my coworkers thought their might have been a way to create a new family and change the placement that way. Is this not possible either?

It's not possible and it sucks :(
