Remodeling a residence and a toilet will be relocated, not replaced.

It doesn't seem like demolishing the existing/insert new OR Design Options should be the way to go but I'm drawing a blank on how to show the placement of something different between phases.

Any help is most appreciated,
Chris

Demolish it, place a new one in the new phase, and have comments in the new instance stating that it is the old one relocated. Have a similar demo note or comment that it is to be removed and retained for relocation.

I dont believe you can Translate something over phasing.

What he said. It will get the point across. If you're scheduling fixtures with totals for estimating, you can always add something to the new fixture's mark or comment field to filter it out of the schedule.

Has anyone fleshed-out this issue a bit more? On remodel projects, I sometimes relocate Plumbing fixtures, but relocating existing HVAC diffusers is very common. I need to show the existing in a "dashed" form. In the new locating it displays as new. My problem is: When I demolish an element, Revit hides it in the view. I haven't yet figured out if this is specific to this plan view, in this model I'm working on, or if this is something hard-coded into Revit.

I'm guessing there is a simple answer I have missed, but I have to admit I'm rusty here.
Thanks

OK, I got it. Globally, it's under Phasing/Phase Filters/Graphic Overrides. Each view then has Phasing settings such as "show demo + new".

The only time I've heard of Phasing causing issues was when you needed to demolish portions of an existing MEP system, because that system or Circuit may requires a lot of rebuilding.
