create a composite ceiling family

we have a composite ceiling block in cad, which is very convenient to usein the section drawings.
i try to find if there is any family like it in the Revit and how i can create one like this.

You can make this as a repeating detail or line based detail family but you won't be able to model it parametrically... at least not as a system family.

I see. i divide it to 2 family, one is the gypsumboard and metal stdu that can be stretch,
and the other is the wire.

you can also put the wire in the same family and have it stretch with the rest of it - i whipped this up after posting earlier - it's for ACT but the principle is the same (it's a bit messy, i did it quickly).

i guess everyone is using revit 2010 now, except for my office.

The so called "Revit" content is nothing more than CAD details inserted into a Revit family. So unfortunately, it doesn't really help with the idea of a flexible detail component.

Was going to explain how I reckon you do it, but easier to mock it up. Have a look at attached mockup for ideas on what you are hoping to achieve.....2009 for you!

Basically combination of linebased detail component and repeating detail component
