Link Group to File

I have a detail group in a my Site File that I want to place in a couple of plan views in my Building File. I would like to Link the group so that as I revise the group in the Site FIle it can be easily updated in the Building File too. So, I saved the group as a Revit File, and then I tried to link that file into my Building file. Thing is....I cannot see anything from that linked file - I cannot find it. Could it be that the group saved as a file contains only drafting elements and cannot be made visible once linked into another file?

Is there a better way to do this? I have been cutting and pasting, but, that always requires moving, and rotating. I also have tested exporting the group as a DWG, but the lines are not all displaying the way I want so it adds another layer of "fixing" things...
