New wall Termination into Existing Walls

Is there any way to stop a new wall or any wall for that matter from inserting itself into a perpendicular wall? I have attached a couple instances i am having. The first is an existing concrete column with new metal stud walls running up to it, the second is new walls going into existing masonry walls. i am using revit arch 2010. any help would be appreciated.

Pick the wall then right click on the blue grip on the end and turn off wall joins... now pull it back.
